Nikita Murray’s legal team came out to set the record straight after television personality Katlego Maboe implicated her in a viral “cheat” scandal video.
In recent weeks, Katlego and his wife, Monique Muller, have made headlines across the country following the video, in which Katlego can be heard admitting that the cheating has gone viral on social media.
In the video, Katlego implicated Nikita as the woman she had allegedly cheated on, while Monique alleged she had contracted an STD, alluding to Katlego’s cheating.
Nikita’s attorney, Vincent Bergh of Liquor Law and Business Consultants, released a statement on her behalf and that of her husband, Matthew, calling the viral video “malicious.”
“Our clients are very disturbed by the wild accusations circulating in the media, involving Ms. Murray and her family.”
The statement added that Nikita had since undergone a medical examination, which confirmed that he does not have an STD.
“Due to these accusations, Ms. Murray had undergone a medical examination to confirm that she did not have any sexually transmitted diseases. Mr. Maboe’s claims that Ms. Murray was the cause of him contracting the STD as accused by the person who made the video is therefore irresponsible and impossible. “
Nikita’s attorneys reiterated that she and her husband have had to deal with the damages caused by the “malicious video.”
“We want to reiterate that our clients are happily married and have dealt with the effects of this malicious video in private. Your marriage is stronger than before.
“They want to thank all of their family and friends and the public who supported them during these difficult times. We trust that he will set the record straight and no longer harass our customers. “
The viral video also highlighted the abuse allegations leveled against Katlego by Monique, which she denied via a press release.
In light of the cheating scandal and allegations of abuse, Espresso Morning program took Katlego off the air pending the outcome of an investigation. OUTsurance, of which Katlego was the face, also made the decision to withdraw all advertisements featuring it until further notice.
At the time, for legal reasons, the Western Cape Police Service (SAPS) was unable to say whether a case involving Katlego and Monique was opened.

The case file has been forwarded to the state’s highest attorney and a decision is awaited, “read a statement from Colonel Andre Taut.
The NPA confirmed to TshisaLIVE that Katlego and Monique were to appear in court on November 3, however, the proceedings were behind closed doors.
