The streaming company Netflix has launched two new subscription plans in South Africa that are specifically aimed at mobile devices.
The Mobile and Mobile + plans are priced at R39 and R59 per month respectively, and the more expensive plan also allows users to watch shows on their laptops.
The Netflix Mobile plan offers simultaneous streaming and is compatible with smartphones and tablets, and allows users to stream at up to 480p resolution.
Netflix Mobile + also supports up to 480p for streaming and allows users to watch on their laptop or desktop, as well as mobile phones and tablets.
MyBroadband reports that Netflix still appears to be rolling out these packages locally, and visitors to the Netflix sign-up page can have either option.
The new plans are much cheaper than the three existing Netflix packages: Basic, Standard and Premium. These plans are geared toward TV users, with the highest package offering support for up to 4K + HDR.
Netflix Mobile and Mobile + have rolled out to several other countries, and Mobile + will be available for the first time in India earlier this year.
