It’s the season to be lighthearted and generous, and while Christmas is still a few days away, it certainly came early for an apprentice waitress.
Media personality Somizi Mhlongo-Motaung stopped by the Anti Social Social Club in Melville, Johannesburg for lunch and gave the waitress a tip of R622 this week.
the TO Idols Judge, author and reality TV star shared his slip on Twitter on Thursday. His order amounted to R378, but he paid the bill with R1000.
“I know how it feels. It’s like having your day done when you least expected it and when you probably need it … and this enthusiastic young medical student deserved this … she provided incredible service. Merry Christmas, ”Somizi captioned in the image.

While many praised the star for making the waitress’s day, not everyone was happy that Somizi shared her act of kindness on social media.
They accused him of showing off and even went so far as to quote a verse from the Bible to justify their feelings.
See how the tweeps reacted below:
Dear Somizi, this is great, but there is no need to come to Twitter and post good deeds. Even the Bible condemns this advertising of good deeds. Defeat the purpose of what you just did. Do all these amazing acts in secret and God will bless you publicly. No need for this

Lol, “Let me give this person so much money, I can’t wait to tweet about it, I can’t just help someone out and shut up, let me take a picture and brag on Twitter, but use sweet words so it doesn’t seem nauseous.”

Somizi did not respond to any of the hates she received. He’s probably still on high after his performance with musician Vusi Nova.
Viewers of Idols of SA they were in awe after Somizi and Vusi played their single together for the first time.
At the season finale held last weekend, Somizi joined the stage with Vusi, her best friend, to perform her single. Orphans – a tribute to their late mothers.
