Mzansi has reacted to a message that radio personality Gareth Cliff has addressed to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

In what might be called an open letter, the former “Idols SA” judge recounted how South Africans were concerned about the havoc the blockade was wreaking on the economy and how many of us are no longer afraid of the coronavirus.

In a clip posted on Twitter, Gareth says: “Dear President Ramaphosa, I am going to keep this short because I know you are dealing with a lot. We have all been ready to support you and your administration in your efforts to save lives on this pandemic. Even People like us who have questioned the idea of a blockade as the best response have decided to comply and do everything possible to help, “he said.

Gareth goes on to say that he agreed not to be able to go to stores or buy hot food “for some inexplicable reason.”

“Our patience and our emotional state are on the edge of the knife and we are losing hope. Many of us are no longer afraid of the virus, it is our health and we will take risks thanks. We are afraid of the chaos that their confinement is sucking in the economy , in people’s lives and livelihoods. ”

Gareth also expressed his discontent with the cigarette ban.

Many South Africans felt nothing, he said, while others said he should fear what the coronavirus would do to the health system.
