“My two youngest children were present at the house at the time of the arrest. The discussion with the Hawks took place in their presence, which was obviously traumatic for them and very insensitive on the part of the cops, ”he stated.

“My children were fighting at school, and the teachers called me to notify me that the children were upset as a result of the conflict at home and harassment from the Hawks that they had witnessed. He also had no way of accessing his teachers’ messages, since during that time all my devices were confiscated. “

I realize that [Malusi] she lied to me. In fact, the criminal charges he had brought me had not been dropped. When I confronted him about it, he told me there must have been a mistake and that he would drop the case that afternoon at the Brooklyn police station. To date it has not

Furthermore, he described his arrest as “an egregious and clearly bad fide [in bad faith] abuse of power ”, which should not be tolerated by the court. He claimed that the charges against him were unfounded and constituted nothing more than a smear campaign against him.

“In due course, the names of the participants and their true motives will be revealed after the fullest investigation,” says their affidavit.

The computer specialist who accompanied the police to seize her electronic devices shared that, during Mngoma’s arrest, she was confused, since her husband had told her that he had withdrawn the case, but nevertheless she felt betrayed by the man whom she had trusted and was married. a for nine years.

“I realize that [he] she lied to me. In fact, the criminal charges he had brought me had not been dropped. When I confronted him about it, he told me there must have been a mistake and that he would drop the case that afternoon at the Brooklyn police station. To date, he has not done so, ”said his affidavit.

Mngoma admitted that he had scratched a Mercedes-Benz G-Class that he thought belonged to businessman Peterson Siyaya, a friend of Gigaba. While there were media reports that the car belonged to Siyaya, the luxurious vehicle, which costs at least R2.5 million, actually belongs to northwestern business magnate Thapelo Tshephe.

In his own police statement, Tshephe stated: “I am the owner of a black Mercedes-Benz which is owned and used by Malusi Gigaba of Waterkloof in Pretoria.” The statement was attached to Mngoma’s affidavit.

“The value of the car is R2.5 million. I loaned the car to Malusi, as his other car had broken down and could not be repaired in time. Still is [broken down]. “

I got angry and confronted Malusi. We had a serious discussion about Peterson and that was the reason I texted Peterson and insulted him, because I felt like he had destroyed my marriage.

In his affidavit, Mngoma explained exactly what his motives were and what happened the night he damaged the slippery vehicle. She admitted that, on July 20, around 8 p.m., she broke down, grabbed a vegetable slicer, and scraped the Mercedes-Benz. She explained that she and her husband had had differences and that she was angry because she believed that he was having extramarital affairs.

She wrote that, two nights later, “I got a call from [Deputy State Security Minister] Zama, Zizi Kodwa’s wife, who told me that Malusi was friends with a person who loved women and slept around. She told me that this person was Peterson Siyaya and that they were together most of the time, traveling and flying to KwaZulu-Natal.

“I got angry and faced Malusi. We had a serious discussion about Peterson and that was why I texted Peterson and insulted him, because I felt like he had destroyed my marriage. “

When approached for comment, the bubbly Mngoma said she wasn’t ready to speak to the media. “I’ll tell my narrative when the time is right,” he said.
