Johannesburg – An on-screen star and now also academically, actress Regina Nesengani graduated with a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) from the University of South Africa (UNISA).
Nesengani, plays the role of vho-Masindi, the mother of Chief Azwindini in the popular SABC 2 drama Muvhango.
He obtained his doctorate in languages, linguistics and literature.
According to a tweet from Muvhango, “Her doctoral thesis was on gender violence and was written in her native language TshiVenda. SABC and Word Of Mouth Pictures are planning a massive celebration on Wednesday December 9th to pay tribute to vho-Masindi for his momentous and historic achievement. “

Regina got her big break playing the role of Vho-Masindi from the first season of Muvhango and has been part of the cast ever since. She is the mother of the head of the community Thathe Azwindini Mukwevho.
He reportedly began doing radio announcements and stories in 1980 and proceeded to perform at the Market Theater in 2002.
According to savannanews.com, Nesengani attended a teaching school in Limpopo, Gauteng, to obtain her teaching diploma. In terms of performance, he did not attend any institution for training. Regina simply discovered her love of acting and perfected her craft.
Nesengani was born on February 6, 1954 in Limpopo, Gauteng province.
