A court interpreter in Mpumalanga has been arrested for corruption and theft.

The arrest was made by the Hawks’ Serious Corruption Investigation Unit, following a reported tip to the unit’s office.

Hawks spokesman Nomthandazo Mnisi confirmed the arrest.

“[A] Interpreter of the court of Pampierstad [has been] arrested on three counts of corruption and robbery, “Mnisi said.

The suspect is expected to appear in Hartswater Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Mnisi added.
