More lockout issues for Boks as Jager’s Lood faces up to 6 months on the sidelines

Springbok lock Lead the hunter he’s scheduled to undergo surgery and faces up to six months on the sidelines.

De Jager injured his problematic shoulder playing for the Sale Sharks against Leicester Tigers in the English Premiership.

Sale Sharks rugby director Steve Diamond later revealed that De Jager had bent the pins in his shoulder.

De Jager’s debut at Sale had previously been delayed due to a shoulder injury sustained in the Rugby World Cup final against England.

“It’s not great news in Lood,” Diamond was quoted as saying. Planet Rugby website. “It is going to be operated and it will probably be longer (than last time). It will probably be a reconstruction, so it will be five to six months.”

De Jager’s injury is the third he’s suffered from a Springbok block in recent times, RG Snyman suffers a devastating knee injury playing for Munster at PRO14 and Eben Etzebeth injuring his ribs playing for Toulon in the French Top 14.

The Springboks will also be left without star midfielder Handre Pollard for the Rugby Championship after he also tore his ACL ligament while playing for Montpellier in the Top 14 last weekend.
