JOHANNESBURG – Opinions on a rally by the Umkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA) have turned into an unexpected turn on social media after Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula rated the association’s president, Kebby Maphatsoe, and spokesman Carl Niehaus, of suspected criminals.

In a series of tweets, the Transport Minister shared his views on those who complained that he claimed that the South African Passenger Rail Agency was his dairy cow and that his sin was turning off the taps of his fake security companies. .

Some MKMVA members marched to the headquarters of the Luthuli House of the African National Congress (ANC) demanding that Mbalula be arrested and complained about a number of issues related to the well-being of ex-combatants.

It may have seemed like a meltdown to some when Mbalula’s tweets hit below the belt, from labeling MKMVA members as thugs to calling Maphatsoe and his spokesperson Niehaus alleged criminals.

Mbalula attacked attempts to cloud his name and destroy the ANC, a move Niehaus has described as shocking.

“As far as I’m concerned, this guy is out of line and that’s it.”

While Niehaus said that Mbalula started the twar, it is now a tweet deleted by the Transport Minister, who claims to have no fear for former President Jacob Zuma, ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule, Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane and the two of the MKMVA, which is now causing a commotion.

Pule Mabe of the ANC said the party would reprimand the minister.
