JOHANNESBURG – Public protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane said she was confident that the Pretoria High Court would absolve her of any wrongdoing.
She said she would cooperate with authorities and appear in court next month on charges of perjury.
This after the director of Accountability Now, attorney Paul Hoffman, filed a criminal complaint against him.
Mkhwebane is charged with lying under oath and delivering misdirected reports against the Reserve Bank of South Africa and Absa.
The Public Protector received a citation for three counts of perjury earlier this week.
