JOHANNESBURG – The MK National Council has responded to former President Jacob Zuma’s letter to President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Council Secretary General Gregory Nthatise says he appreciates Ramaphosa’s rejection of the letter,
but he is disappointed that no action has been taken.

The National Council of MK Veterans held a briefing on the current situation in the ANC.

The council says there are two ANCs, one of which fights corruption while the other defends it.

“However, the ANC is no longer at a crossroads, in a downward spiral,” said Gregory Nthatisi.

“What is most disturbing is that it is plunging our country down this unfortunate destructive path.”

The council says the existence of two ANCs within a party is accelerating this decline, and one must go.

“These comrades are emboldened to do bad things, feeling that they have support within the ANC,” said Ike Moroe of the council.

“It’s time for them to get ready to step aside, maybe find another ANC, outside of this ANC that we want to be ethical.”

The council regrets the preservation of the unit at the expense of the ANC’s values.

“We cannot seek unity forever, with people who do not want to see the ANC united,” Moroe said.
