The minister has claimed that he was being attacked by a MKMVA group, led by Maphatsoe and Niehaus, for security tenders that he canceled at the SA Passenger Railroad Agency (Prasa).
“Criminals are after me. Carl Niehaus is a well known suspect, I don’t know how but it is well documented, he faked the death of his mother. I mean, he’s about to fake his own death, ”Mbalula said.
Mbalula said Magashule had hired Niehaus at Luthuli House, but his job description was unknown “as he only organized marches.” He said they were part of a plot that was targeting him.
Both Niehaus and Maphatsoe responded to Mbalula for his spiel on Monday, and the MKMVA president said Mbalula would not speak at any ANC event until he apologized for calling them bullies. “Wherever he is, we will make sure he stands up and apologizes to the people. If you don’t do that, you will never go to any meeting, ”Maphatsoe said.
Niehaus on Twitter criticized Mbalula, saying that he shouldn’t call the MKMVA members thugs because they were so much older than him. “Some of these paintings are old enough to be your parents. These are paintings that sacrificed their lives for our freedom, theirs too, and are suffering neglect and poverty. Respect! “He tweeted.
In his speech on Tuesday, Magashule said that he had heard the concerns raised by the KZN MKMVA members.
“We respect them, we respect the MK. We know that there are members of the MK who complain that 26 years after their freedom they do not have houses, they do not work and we are in parliament, driving good cars and eating well, ”Magashule said.
