Michael Owen is backing Liverpool FC to rebound from their draw at Everton last weekend with a 2-0 home win over Sheffield United on Saturday night.
The Reds were forced to back down and held to a 2-2 draw by their bitter hometown rivals at Goodison Park last weekend as they were forced to settle for one point against the Toffees.
Liverpool FC also suffered the blow of losing Virgil van Dijk for several months after their talisman defense suffered a serious knee injury during the match.
The Merseyside side recovered from the draw with a 1-0 win over Dutch Ajax in their first Champions League match midweek.
Sheffield United have struggled to find consistent form this season and have only won one point in their first five games in the top flight.
Owen, a former Liverpool FC star, is tipping the locals to have too much for the Blades when they welcome them to Anfield on Saturday night.
Writing in your column to BetVictorOwen said: “Sheffield United managed to score a point at home against Fulham last week and now they face the champions at Anfield.
“I think this could be another tough afternoon for the Blades.
“Liverpool prepared very well with a 1-0 away win against Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday, and I think they will pick up that good form and take three points and another clean sheet.”
Liverpool FC are aiming to defend their Premier League title this season after winning the trophy with seven games to go last season.
The Reds won their first three games this season, but lost to Aston Villa before their draw against Everton last weekend.
