Mesut Ozil sends a message to German coach Joachim Low after the defeat of Spain by six goals

Mesut Ozil has offered German coach Joachim Low some advice after watching his country send six against Spain.

A hat-trick by Manchester City’s Ferran Torres helped the Spaniards score three in each half.

The Germans had topped their League of Nations group and needed only to secure one point, but instead endured a nightmare night.

Low’s starting eleven included players like Manuel Neuer, Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane, but it was the absence of a central midfielder that Ozil commented.

The Arsenal outcast has urged Low to bring Jerome Boateng back into the fold.

Ozil tweeted: “Time to get Jerome Boateng back.”

The veteran defender helped Germany win the World Cup in 2014 and has 76 caps.

Boateng remains a regular at Bayern Munich, although they have chosen not to renew their contract, but Low decided to start recruiting the next generation.

As a result, the central outlet was told that its services were no longer needed.

But in the wake of such a humiliating defeat, Low will inevitably be asked questions.

“I really don’t know what happened to the team,” he said after the game.

“We hardly had any chances and we didn’t win a single individual battle on the field.

“In the second half we tried to pressure them at the top of the pitch to score and get back into the game, but Spain played much better than us, they were much faster and played with more precision.”

Ozil himself has retired from international football and criticized the treatment he received.

“The treatment I have received from the DFB and many others means that I no longer want to wear the German national team jersey,” he posted on Instagram.

“I feel unwanted and I think what I have achieved since my international debut in 2009 has been forgotten.”
