Unsurprisingly, Prince Harry’s decision to marry Meghan Markle was largely rejected by the British royal family.
And as the prince went against everyone to marry the former actor, she was received at the palace with tension and animosity in the air, historian Robert Lacey revealed.
In his new book, Battle of brothersLacey exposed Harry’s ties to William and added that someone at the palace ‘hated’ Meghan.
Speaking to the Sunday Times, Lacey said: “There was personal animosity in the palace towards Meghan, and the feeling is mutual. There was someone in the palace, and I can’t name it, who hated Meghan. There is no lost love there. “
“The palace expected Harry to marry a pretty girl named Annabel or Henrietta and go live in the country. They weren’t expecting this bomb, ”he continued.
“The problem with the Royal Family is that they don’t know how to ‘wake up’. Woke up is not going to go. She is here to stay, and Meghan is the very embodiment of that, ”he added.
