Meghan Markle always had her eyes set on achieving more meaningful goals in her life, despite being married to the British royal family.
The Duchess of Sussex, prior to her wedding to Prince Harry, had confessed that she never wanted to be someone who ‘has lunch’ as she pointed out future difficulties she might face within the royal household.
Speaking to Elle in 2016, Meghan had opened up about the challenges she had been presented with in terms of balancing her philanthropic efforts with the UN and the glamorous life of a Hollywood celebrity.
“My brain, heart and spirit couldn’t shift gears that fast, from the purpose-driven work I’d been doing all week in Rwanda to the refined glamor of an awards show,” he told the outlet.
“I never wanted to be a lunch lady; I always wanted to be a working woman. With fame comes opportunity, but it also includes responsibility: defending and sharing, focusing less on glass slippers and more on breaking through glass ceilings, ”he added.
This was a direct hint about her struggles as a royal girlfriend, as she was said to have become ‘voiceless’ and prevented from being part of a larger picture that allowed her to develop her potential.
