The Eastern Cape Arts and Culture MEC, Fezeka Nkomonye, said her department welcomed the town’s name change to Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela.
The move immortalizes Madikizela-Mandela for her massive and selfless contribution to the achievement of freedom and democracy in South Africa, Nkomonye said.
