Mats Wilander feel By Novak Djokovic The injury is much more serious than what you are showing before the open French semifinal against Stefanos Tsitsipas.
World number one Djokovic was a bit slow during his quarter-final clash against Pablo Carreño Busta, winning in four sets, while also requiring treatment to his neck and arm midway through the match.
Wilander, a seven-time Grand Slam winner and now a Eurosport expert, believes Djokovic’s injury is a major concern ahead of what could be a brutal clash with Tsitsipas.
“I don’t think he wants to show his opponent that he is injured,” Wilander told Eurosport.
“It’s a legitimate injury that will be there, and if he doesn’t get off to a good start, that could be a problem.
“Clearly, yesterday it took him some time to warm up his body, and that will be the same tomorrow, and again in the final.
“I think Novak’s injury is a big concern. Obviously, he doesn’t want to show his opponent that he’s injured coming onto the court.
Wilander added: “Pablo Carreño Busta hinted that he always does that, I don’t think Novak wants to do that when he’s down.
“I would say it is a concern because these next two games for any player are going to be absolutely brutal in terms of length and physicality.
“You are going to run for a long time. It will be two marathon matches.”
