Manchester United defender has rejected new contract
Mason Greenwood has been very impressed with his new Manchester United teammate who arrived in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United managed to seize Edinson Cavani as a free agent in the summer and received the legendary jersey number 7. Following Alexis Sánchez’s disastrous run at Old Trafford, he had failed to generate the impact that the club expected from a player of his caliber. But the Uruguayan has been a different story so far.
Cavani has already scored four crucial goals for the Red Devils and has been a great striker in every game he has played for United. The Uruguayan had signed a one-year contract, but talks with Ed Woodward have already advanced on a possible contract extension that will link the 33-year-old with the club until 2022, the Express reports.
United academy graduate Mason Greenwood appears to be full of praise for his new teammate, as he says anyone can learn Cavani’s skill from a striker.
Although Greenwood has had to sacrifice his time on the pitch for the veteran, the Englishman has admitted that he has benefited from having the former PSG striker at Old Trafford. And that’s understandable, since the veteran will surely have a lot of tricks that he can pass on to the youngsters.

According to the club’s official website, he said:
“Anyone can learn from him, be it a young player or an older player.
“He’s just come here and set an example, really. I like the things he does, so obviously I notice the little things he does.
“I watch him in training sessions and I always watch him, to see what movements he does, so I can add him to my game. I think it is a great benefit that he is here at the club.
“You can see that the two goals he scored against Southampton were just incredible. It’s something he’s been doing for 10 or 15 years at PSG and also at Napoli, so he’s a good footballer.
Cavani has always been an impressive scorer and his performances since moving to the Premier League have garnered quite a bit of attention. So much so that United are already eager to extend the veteran’s stay even though he arrived just a couple of months earlier.
Cavani has also expressed interest in extending his time at United, as he claims to have adjusted to life at Old Trafford. Therefore, do not be surprised that the two parties soon reach an agreement.
