Ole Gunnar Solskjaer complains after Manchester United draw
West Bromwich Albion is considering making an offer to sign the Manchester United defender in the next January transfer period.
Premier League clubs are moving into the middle of a fast-moving 2020-21 season. With Christmas past, attention will now turn to the approaching January transfer window. This is the period of the soccer calendar when teams struggling in the league look for players who can turn their fortunes around.
West Bromwich Albion are one of many Premier League teams looking to seize the opportunities offered by the mid-season transfer window, despite being heavily hampered by the global pandemic.
According to a report from Todofichajes, the alleged relegation fighters will offer 8 million euros to sign Phil Jones from Manchester United in the next January transfer window.
West Bromwich Albion’s new boss Sam Allardyce sees acquiring a seasoned central midfielder as an imperative part of the club’s winter transfer business.
United has already been linked under several new names, as is often the case. But this time, there is a belief that the club will prioritize the sale of players rather than the purchase.

After being left out of the 25-man Premier League squad earlier this season, Phil Jones is seen as exceeding Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s requirements at Old Trafford. He was expected to leave the club in the summer, but concerns about his physical condition pushed aside the idea of a possible change.
Since Solskjaer became the manager of the Red Devils, Jones has appeared only 26 times, having remained on the sidelines with various injury problems most of the time. And in the 2020-21 campaign, he has yet to appear. Next summer will mark Jones’ ten-year stay at Old Trafford if he decides to stay at the club.
However, West Bromwich Albion are not the only club willing to remove the 28-year-old Englishman from United’s hands. He has several other fans, and teams like Derby County, Newcastle United and Inter Milan also said they were interested in a January move.
