Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to change 20 percent of the team each season, according to reports. The Norwegian has led his team to second place in the Premier League table, tied on points with Liverpool and with a game in hand. But he’s determined to continue to change the club across the board as he looks to bring the glory days back to Old Trafford.

United hired Solskjaer in December 2018, initially granting him the job on an interim basis following the firing of José Mourinho.

And while there have been a lot of bumps along the way, the Red Devils seem to be getting back to their best.

United have come through a difficult start to the campaign to emerge as true title contenders. If they win their hand game against Burnley, they will sit at the top of the table.

Liverpool are wavering, Tottenham are still prone to poor results and the performances of Arsenal and Chelsea this season have left much to be desired.

In the midst of all that, United have regained their arrogance and are currently running an eight-win streak in their last 10 Premier League games.

But Solskjaer is not done.

And he is eager to win a trophy this season, as United haven’t won a trophy since the Mourinho era.

Woodward has endorsed Solskjaer, recently insisting that United have been getting closer and closer to winning the title without the award since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

“The team has managed well in challenging circumstances while playing behind closed doors,” Woodward said.

“In fact, at the time of this writing, we have earned more points per game since Project Restart last June than any other club in the Premier League.

“We also have four more wins and nine more goals than at the same time last season.

“There are a lot of positive stats like these that show the progress made with Ole in the last year. But they only tell part of the story.

“Just as important is the work we see being done behind the scenes to build a winning culture consistent with the traditions of the attacking soccer club played by young, hard-working teams that fuse local talent with top-notch recruits.

“We are getting closer to those goals as the squad continues to develop following the arrivals of Bruno Fernandes, Donny van de Beek, Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani.

“Our continued investment reflects the tremendous resilience of the club and our commitment to supporting Ole, while remaining disciplined at an extremely challenging time.

“As always, our priority is to win trophies and, with the team entering the new year competing on four fronts, we are optimistic about the way forward in 2021.”
