According to the Beautiful game (h / t MEN) podcast, Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has urged the club to build the team around star striker Marcus Rashford, comparing him to Kylian Mbappe.
He then went on to compare the young man’s impact with that of Kylian Mbappe on PSG. The Frenchman is one of the best players in the world and being compared to him shows the level Rashford is at.
The Englishman has enjoyed an excellent season with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and has firmly established himself as one of the team’s key figures.
United No.10 have scored 19 goals and 5 assists in 31 appearances before an injury threatened to end their season. With soccer currently suspended, Rashford will have a chance to increase that number once the season resumes.
Having reached the ranks of United, Rashford’s skills have Ferdinand’s stamp of approval. The defender describes the striker as a “crazy talent” and referred to his versatility.
“Rashford can live up to the top 100 percent because he has crazy talent”
Ferdinand is glad that the player was able to take the step to the upper side. He also regretted the fact that his promotion had to come at a time when United has struggled to establish itself as the best team in the country.
He believed that the new consistency under Solskjaer will gain new momentum with Rashford’s return. The striker can take the Red Devils to a higher level, as Mbappe did in Paris.
