Manchester United confirm that two players will miss the game against PSG

Manchester United have confirmed that two players will definitely miss the UEFA Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain.

Manchester United hope to reserve their place in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 when they host Paris Saint-Germain at Old Trafford on Wednesday. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team will be confident in their chances of defeating the French champions 2-1 at Le Parc des Princes in the reverse match.

They won’t have two of the best players in that game: Luke Shaw and Axel Tuanzebe. They were both part of a three-man defense that night and put on impressive displays to keep players like Kylian Mbappé and Neymar quiet.

However, Shaw was injured before the recent international hiatus that will keep him on the sidelines for longer. Tuanzebe, on the other hand, will be serving a suspension after collecting three yellow cards.

Manchester United confirmed the news earlier on their official website. On the subject of Shaw, they wrote:

We have known for a few weeks that Luke Shaw would miss this game, as a result of the hamstring problem he suffered at Everton last month.

About Tuanzebe, they wrote:

Axel Tuanzebe was a prominent actor in the French capital, keeping dangerous Kylian Mbappé calm, but he is a confirmed absentee for United, as he is serving a one-game suspension for getting three bookings.

Solskjaer will be happy to have Alex Telles back up for Shaw. The Brazilian has been impressive every time he has appeared with the Red Devils and they have won all those games as well. So many would say that at this point it might even be ahead of the English in the left side packing order.

However, Tuanzebe’s absence will not be so easy to deal with. It looks like Solskjaer will be returning to the duo of Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof, but the sheer number of injuries to the central defender right now means the team could be in trouble if either of them are forced to leave the field at night.

However, for now, United should be confident to enter the game. They have won four games in a row since their shock loss to Istanbul Basaksehir. And they’re coming off the back of a three-goal second-half comeback against Southampton this weekend.

PSG, on the other hand, haven’t been in great shape lately. As a result, you would have to argue that Solskjaer’s men are the favorites on Wednesday night.
