Pep Guardiola has reacted to Liverpool’s signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich. Guardiola managed Thiago at both Bayern and Barcelona early in their careers.

Guardiola is poised to give players like Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva more time after David Silva left Manchester for Lazio this summer.

Thiago played 80 times with Guardiola at Bayern and won the Bundesliga three times in a row.
“It’s an amazing feeling. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time and I’m very happy to be here,” said the Spanish midfielder.
Thiago will wear jersey number six at Anfield and becomes the club’s second summer signing after Greece’s left-back Kostas Tsimikas.
