Man Utd team news: 4-4-2 vs RB Leipzig expected – Solskjaer to make four changes | Soccer Sport

Manchester United tackle RB Leipzig knowing that one point will take them to the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, it will not be easy, with Julian Nagelsmann’s team in top form. Express Sport will now look at how we expect the Red Devils to line up for the big game in Germany on Tuesday night, with a potentially used diamond formation.

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

Dean Henderson did nothing wrong against West Ham on Saturday night, even playing a major role in Paul Pogba’s excellent leveler at London Stadium.

But, given the magnitude of this match, expect to see David De Gea back between the sticks.

Question marks were put on the Spanish international at the start of the campaign, but lately he has silenced his critics with some solid demonstrations.

De Gea has the big playing experience United needs and it seems unlikely that Solskjaer will shut him out.

And that means Henderson will have to settle for a spot on the bench.

Midfield: Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes

Solskjaer has tried a diamond formation on occasion, and this could be another night he uses it.

With Fred injured, Nemanja Matic could be in line to start. The Serbian international has been absent lately, but it feels like a match he’s designed for.

Paul Pogba is back in form and could be deployed to the left of midfield.

Solskjaer likes Scott McTominay for the big games, so we think the Scottish international will also be selected.

And there is zero chance that Bruno Fernandes will be on the bench for the second game in a row. Nothing.

Forwards: Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood

Unfortunately for United, they will be without Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial during the visit to Germany.

Both players hobbled out of a 3-1 win over West Ham on Saturday and, with the games accumulated, have not traveled with the rest of the team.

So it should be Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood unleashed from the start.

Both players hit home against West Ham and, as products of the club’s academy, this is going to be a great night for them.

United could use Odion Ighalo if they really need a goal in the final stages.
