Man Utd has two Jadon Sancho alternatives left with Ed Woodward with a week to go | Soccer Sport

Manchester United has only two alternatives to Jadon Sancho left on its radar, reports say. Ed Woodward has spent the entire transfer window trying to get the Borussia Dortmund star to Old Trafford. But, with just one week left, time is running out to land the 20-year-old.

Manchester United have had a shaky start to the new Premier League season so far.

They were abject when Crystal Palace surprised them on the first day of the season, losing 3-1 at Old Trafford with former player Wilfried Zaha coming back to chase them.

United were also badly off against Brighton on Saturday afternoon, but secured all three points thanks to a late and controversial penalty from Bruno Fernandes.

Fans know the club needs more if they want to pressure Liverpool and Manchester City for the Premier League title this season as they have been without the award since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.

And the Daily Mail says they are preparing a last-minute offer to take Sancho to Old Trafford.

The Borussia Dortmund star was outstanding last season, scoring 17 goals and 17 assists in 34 Bundesliga games.

Bale, however, moved to Tottenham on loan from Real Madrid.

And Grealish has signed a new contract at Aston Villa, having previously had his heart set on moving to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, former United striker Andy Cole has been open to his team’s search for Sancho and expressed his belief that they should use funds to strengthen other areas of their team.

“Putting Jadon Sancho on that Man United team wouldn’t mean they win the league this season, far from it,” Cole told TEAMtalk.

“He’s a talented kid, really talented, but it won’t change everything for United.

“If you don’t get Sancho and go to another. You could sign someone who could accomplish more than Sancho in the long run.

“Sometimes we get caught up in big names. But the one below is just as good even if it has one less name.

“Bringing in two or three players with that money might be a more sensible route.”

United have signed just one player so far this summer, and Donny van de Beek arrived from Ajax on a £ 40m deal.

And Sancho isn’t the only transfer target with a week to go, and Woodward also hopes to bring in Alex Telles from Porto.
