Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still wants to sign Joshua King
According to The Athletic, Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still interested in signing Bournemouth forward Joshua King in the ongoing transfer window.
King spent several years at United, arriving in 2008 from Valerenga, Norway. He was part of the reserves of the United who played with Solskjaer.
However, King was unable to make the move to the first team and made only two appearances for United. And after a loan at Preston North End, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hull City, he joined Blackburn Rovers in 2013 where he impressed.
Two years later, in 2015, King signed for Bournemouth and has participated 170 times to date, scoring 50 goals and setting up 17 more. (h / t Transfermarkt)
Manchester United tried to sign King during the January transfer window. However, failing to reach an agreement on the transfer fee with the Cherries, the club brought in Odion Ighalo instead. (h / t The Guardian)
However, according to the Athletic report, Solskjaer is still interested in bringing the 28-year-old back to Old Trafford this summer.
Even King himself has hopes of returning to the club, having recently stated that it would be incredible if United tried to sign him this summer.

King returning to Old Trafford has a sense of romance. However, the 28-year-old endured a disappointing 2019/20 campaign. And while it would add more options available to the coach, it is not Champions League material.
United need a forward to challenge Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood. And King would not be the most ideal option for the club.
