A woman who was seven months pregnant died after being stabbed by her boyfriend during an argument outside her mother’s home in the Northwest.
The 34-year-old was arrested after Saturday’s incident and is due to appear in Schweizer-Reneke magistrates court soon.
“The suspect who is from Taung was visiting the victim at extension 8, Ipelegeng Location. It is alleged that the suspect and his seven-month-pregnant girlfriend had an argument. The suspect allegedly accused the girlfriend of cheating when he was away, ”said police spokeswoman Lt. Col. Amanda Funani.
During the fight, the 27-year-old victim was stabbed in the chest in front of her mother’s home. Then the boyfriend took her to a local clinic where she died.
“The suspect was arrested at the victim’s home the same day and charged with murder,” Funani said.
