The South African international has completed his signing for the Brazilians and will link up with his teammates after the international break

Mamelodi Sundowns has officially introduced Kermit Erasmus as their player following confirmation from Cape Town last weekend.

The 30-year-old completed his transfer to the Brazilians upon arrival in Johannesburg on Sunday before heading to Bafana Bafana camp.

According to the Tshwane giants, Erasmus has signed a three-year contract, which means it will be with Sundowns until June 2023.

Speaking to the Sundowns media about his move, Erasmus expressed his satisfaction at finally joining the club, and hopes to contribute to the success of the team.

Additionally, the former Orlando Pirates shooter believes this move is a step in the right direction for him and his soccer career.

“It is a big step for me. It is really a challenge to be part of a club like this and I am ready for the challenge,” said Erasmus.

“Hopefully, I can contribute positively to the team and the fans can enjoy watching us play.

“It is a big step in the right direction for my career and for me personally. Hopefully I can contribute to the team and make the most of the new season,” concluded Erasmus.

Erasmus will connect with his new teammates in Chloorkop shortly after the international break next week.

He’s coming to bolster the club’s hitting department that has been fighting for over two years.

The speedy forward meets Peter Shalulile, who recently joined the reigning PSL champions from Highlands Park.

Sundowns becomes the fourth local Erasmus club since turning pro almost 15 years ago.

He began his professional career with SuperSport United before joining the Orlando Pirates.

Erasmus went to France from Pirates and, on his return from abroad, joined Cape Town under the tutelage of Benni McCarthy.

Sundowns then approached City for Erasmus services before the end of last season, and while the Mother City-based team seemed reluctant to sell, club boss John Comitis admitted in September that the deal it could still be realized.
