The dreadlocked shooter will campaign for PSL next season after his impressive NFD debut campaign where he scored 12 goals in 23 starts.
Swallows FC have beaten both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates with the signing of JDR Stars forward Moeketsi Makhanya.
Makhanya was strongly linked to the two Soweto giants shortly after bursting onto the professional scene with Stars at the start of the 2019-20 season.
At that time he was scoring goals for fun in the National First Division (NFD), and is highly rated among soccer fans who follow his career.
The Dube Birds announced Makhanya’s arrival on their social media platforms Sunday afternoon.

Makhanya becomes Swallows’ second major signing after the club unveiled former Orlando Pirates midfielder Musa Nyatama on Sunday.
The dreadlocked shooter brings a lot of quality to the Swallows team after proving to be too much for opposition defenders in his first season in the NFD.
He scored 12 goals in 23 league starts for the Tshwane-based team, finishing the campaign as the second top joint scorer behind Ajax Cape Town scorer Abednego Mosiatlhaga.
What makes him an asset to Swallows is his versatility, as he can also play as a winger, both on the right and left side of the field.
Makhanya is expected to form a deadly partnership with Swallows top scorer Kagiso Malinga next season.
Malinga found the back of the net 12 times in 24 league games for Brandon Truter’s team; the same number of goals as Makhanya.
Their goals were instrumental in Swallows defeating Ajax and promoting them automatically despite the fact that at one point they were seven points behind in the title race.
Swallows is expected to sign more players in an attempt to bolster his squad for what will be his season back to the elite league for the first time in more than five seasons.
There are several players who could also remain at Swallows for next season, especially those who were loaned out by Amakhosi.
Itumeleng Shopane, Given Thibedi, Sizwe Twala and Ayanda Rorwana belong to the Glamor Boys, but Swallows intends to stay with them.
