Barcelona apparently closed the door on Suárez’s departure to Atlético de Madrid.
The saga that surrounds Barcelona and Luis Suárez has taken another turn as the player’s signing to Atlético de Madrid has been paralyzed.
Despite reports that a deal was almost made, club president Josep Maria Bartomeu stepped in to put an end to it. A move that has enraged the Uruguayan forward.

According to ESPN, Suárez is furious at the club for stopping the movement and is considering holding a press conference with his lawyers and discussing his situation.
Bartomeu prevented the deal from going through because he didn’t want Suarez to go free if it meant joining Atlético de Madrid. You don’t want to strengthen a direct rival.
What makes his decision more interesting is that he may only have learned of Suárez’s agreement with Atlético by reading it in the press.
Also, apparently in the agreement between Suárez and Barcelona there is a list of the best European teams that he could not attend. Originally, Atlético de Madrid was not on the list. However, when Bartomeu intervened, he asked that Atlético be put on the list.
Suárez is involved in a new controversy.
The bad news for Suárez does not end there since there is controversy regarding the citizenship test he took in Italy.
According to Sport, the Italian police are investigating irregularities surrounding the exam and believe they got the answers ahead of time. The test usually takes a couple of hours to complete, and Suarez was able to finish it in just 30 minutes.
This is going to be an ongoing process, but it adds more salt to the wounds, as taking the exam proved futile in the end, as his move to Juventus ultimately fell apart.
It has not been a good summer for Suárez, who was one of the players indicated by the president who should be transferred if Barcelona were to start their reconstruction process.
At the beginning of Ronald Koeman’s management, the Barça coach informed him that he did not have him. Since then he has changed his tone a bit, but only because it seemed that the club could not find a suitor for Suárez.
Atlético de Madrid remains the favorite to sign him, but Suárez and his representatives must first reach an agreement with the Catalan team. In addition, it is unknown whether or not this latest scandal will dissuade Atlético from signing him.
For now, Suárez returns to training with the team. The next few days may be key to deciding your future. If he holds a press conference with his lawyers, he will be the second player to publicly vent his frustrations with the board after Lionel Messi.
