Luis Suárez has reportedly agreed to personal terms with Juventus as he approaches leaving Barcelona this summer.

Barcelona’s new coach, Ronald Koeman, considered that the 33-year-old exceeded the requirements and will be transferred in part of the substantial reform at the club.

The Uruguayan had been linked to former clubs Ajax and Liverpool, but it appears Juventus have won the race for the prolific forward, if a deal can be reached with Barcelona.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports, through Marca, that personal terms were agreed between the Serie A champion and Suárez after a second meeting between the club and their representatives and after Vice President Pavel Nedved spoke directly with the player.

Having played alongside Lionel Messi for the past six years in Spain, this would now see Suárez bond with Cristiano Ronaldo in a potentially deadly partnership up front in Turin.

Juventus are looking for a new striker and Gonzalo Higuaín is expected to leave the club this summer, linked to MLS’s Inter Miami of David Beckham.

However, the player must reach an agreement with Barcelona, since despite being told that it is no longer necessary at the Camp Nou, it can be expensive to get rid of it.

Suarez still has one year left on his contract with Barcelona and a Goal report suggests the club would have to pay the player £ 12 million to cancel his contract 12 months before it expires.

The forward reportedly agreed to a salary with Juventus of around £ 9 million a year after tax.

The former Liverpool player has yet to comment on his future, writing on Instagram last week: ‘There are people talking about me or on my behalf when for years I have not had a relationship with them. When I have to speak, I speak for myself. ‘
