After it was confirmed that London would move to Level 3 of the UK government’s COVID-19 restrictions, Liverpool is now one of only four Premier League clubs that can host fans.

Before this, ten teams could have a following at home games, but that took away from Arsenal, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Spurs and West Ham.

The remaining clubs that can invite fans to the games are Liverpool, Everton, Southampton and Brighton and Hove Albion, given that their stadiums are within Level 2 restricted areas.

For a visual representation of this, see the image below:

Speaking solely on behalf of Merseyside, the widely publicized tests in Liverpool have seriously helped reduce the number of infections in the region and football clubs will now reap the benefits.

With only four of the 20 clubs able to have fans cheering on their sides, it becomes a question of whether there is any unfair advantage there.

But the people of Merseyside, Hampshire and East Sussex have done their part to clamp down on COVID-19 and now it is to their advantage that people can attend, among other things, football games, hopefully the rest. of the country will be able to join us soon.
