Frank Lampard criticizes Liverpool’s title ‘advantage’
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has claimed that Liverpool and Manchester United are being helped by a less rigorous match schedule.
The Blues boss believes his players have been given less time to recover between games than other teams, including the Reds.
Only 48 hours separate Chelsea’s game at Arsenal on Boxing Day and their next outing against Aston Villa on Monday.
“The fact that it is two games in 48 hours is an important point for us because there are other teams that are challenging at the top of the League that play two games in three days,” said Lampard.
“Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool play two games in three days. It is counterproductive for the quality of the Premier League.”
