Oh Liverpool. What are we going to do with you? You keep giving us heart attacks with these injuries. We just wish we could eliminate all the pain. Here, put me on my knees. Unfortunately that is not possible and instead the club will have to dive into the transfer market in January. According to CalcioMercato, Liverpool have a great interest in Ajax’s Perr Schuurs.
Liverpool injury crisis
The Reds are desperate for a January signing because their bottom line has fallen apart in recent weeks and months.
The club thought it wise to start the season with just three center-backs after they sold Dejan Lovren and forgot to replace him.
The Merseyside Derby showed just how silly this decision was when Virgil van Dijk was ruled out for the season after a terrible tackle by Jordan Pickford.
Joe Gomez’s season is now also in doubt after he was injured on international service, the Kopites nervously awaiting a prognosis.

Joel Matip was also out of the game, but is now in shape again, although no one knows for how long.
Liverpool targets Perr Schuurs
With a new defender desperately needed, the media is guessing who will walk through the door.
According to CalcioMercato, Liverpool have a “great interest” in Ajax’s Perr Schuurs.
The Dutchman is reportedly valued at € 30 million (£ 27 million).
The report also claims that both Milan teams are interested in a play for the central defender.
What RTK has to say
This boy could very well be the next Virgil van Dijk.
The defender is Dutch, barely 20 years old, dominates from the air and has a strong passing range.
We clearly know a lot about him given that he was on trial with the Reds a few years ago.
Perr Schuurs’ signing for Liverpool makes a lot of sense, it remains to be seen whether or not they will seek a deal.
It’s definitely one that would excite us, he played well against Jürgen Klopp’s team in the Champions League.
