Liverpool lost a golden opportunity to open a five-point gap to the top of the Premier League table, drawing 1-1 with West Bromwich Albion at Anfield.
The Reds took the lead in the first half with Sadio Mane scoring superbly on an effervescent pass from Joel Matip.
They were then comfortable for a long period in the game, but Albion came back with around 25 minutes to go.
Karlan Grant had a golden opportunity to equalize and went one-on-one with Alisson, and that seemed to bring the visitors to life.
The Baggies began knocking on the door and it finally opened, with Semi Ajayi entering from a cheaply conceded corner.
Liverpool could have stolen the points with just minutes to go, but Roberto Firmino’s close header was finished off by Sam Johnstone.
The Reds really lacked that cutting edge that was so impressive against Crystal Palace, and the result is a reminder that there are no anticipated conclusions in this strange season.
On social media, quite a few Liverpool fans disagreed with the fact that Klopp did not put Xherdan Shaqiri on.
The £ 80,000-a-week star (Spotrac) was overlooked in favor of the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi, and that was an oversight in the eyes of some frustrated Reds fans:
The subs were made too late, no Shaqiri is a joke

Why doesn’t Shaqiri honestly Klopp never use it?

I should have put Shaqiri when they scored! We have been devoid of creativity throughout the game!

This game needed Shaqiri

Absolutely criminal to bring Origi instead of Shaqiri

Why wouldn’t you wear a smart passer like Shaqiri for 10 minutes?

Sometimes I have to question Klopp’s substitutes … I waited until the last minutes to make our third change, in a game that we needed to unlock a deep defense, ideal for Shaqiri … but instead bring Origi ???
