Lionel Messi has no passion, and his rival Cristiano Ronaldo is more like Argentine legend Diego Maradona in this department.
That’s according to Benfica coach Jorge Jesús, who has called Maradona the “greatest” because of the impact he had both on and off the field.
Jesús told ESPN: “In my opinion, Maradona was the best player in history, with Pelé. Pelé is still here, he’s alive.
“Maradona was the greatest, not only because of what he was as a genius and as a player, but because of the way he showed. That made a difference for me.
“He was a world top, but he had a passion for the game, he was born to be a footballer, he was born with everything.

Jesus later clarified: “Be careful not to misinterpret. As for Messi, we are talking about what life and feelings are, having a passion for the game and football.
“I think Maradona was even prominent in this regard in relation to others.”

Messi paid tribute to his hero Maradona after scoring for Barcelona in Sunday’s clash with Osasuna de la Liga.
The Argentine took off his shirt to show underneath a Newell’s Old Boys shirt, Messi’s first team and Maradona’s last, wearing the number 10.
Barcelona faces a fine of £ 2,700 for the tribute.
