Linde, who threw two pitches before the new ball was caught, left the field the first day after injuring his finger while trying to field his own bowling alley.
In an updated statement on her physical condition, Linde’s injury had been adequately managed and protected to give her the opportunity to bowl in the first inning.
Linde’s recovery was part of a very good first session where South Africa took three wickets to wobble in Pakistan.
Anrich Nortje got rid of Babar Azam (77) and Mohammad Rizwan (18) while Temba Bavuma’s special outing eliminated the dangerous Fawad Alam (45)
The layoffs of Azam and Alam saw Pakistan slide from 145/3 to 149/5 and were 229/7 at lunch on Day 2.
