Limpopo police arrested a 37-year-old man for allegedly killing his ex-girlfriend.

Tshepo Daisy Makola, 30, was killed Tuesday in the Westenburg area near Polokwane.

His body was found in a pool of blood, said police spokesman Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe.

Makola and the suspect allegedly had an argument, during which he stabbed her before fleeing the scene.

“The police opened a murder case and a manhunt was carried out until he was arrested in hiding … The motive for this incident is unclear, but domestic violence cannot be ruled out,” Ngoepe said.

The man was arrested Thursday in the village of Tshikombani on the outskirts of Thohoyandou. He was expected to appear in court on Monday.

Police investigations are still ongoing, Ngoepe added.
