Lewis Hamilton is F1’s top winner with £ 42m ahead of rivals Vettel, Ricciardo and LeClerc – The Sun

The salaries of the 20 Formula One stars have been revealed, with Lewis Hamilton as the top earner, pocketing £ 42 million a year.

Mercedes star Hamilton, who tops Sunday Times rich list, earns more TWICE As much as any other F1 driver except Vettel.

The German, who will leave Ferrari at the end of this season, earns £ 37 million a year, with those earning the least pocketing just £ 175,000.

It’s a massive jump to third place though, with Daniel Ricciardo moving to McLaren at the end of this season at £ 16 million.

Red Bull star Max Verstappen is the only other star to break the 10 million pound per season barrier, at 14 million pounds.

And only seven other stars, including Carlos Sainz and Kimi Raikkonen, make more than £ 1 million a year, with Vettel’s current Ferrari friend Charles LeClerc making £ 8 million.

The remaining nine runners earn between £ 175,000 and £ 900,000 per season.

Willilams’ couple, George Russell and Nicholas Latifi, along with Alfa Romeo driver Antonio Giovinazzi, are the top earners together.

McLaren junior Lando Norris isn’t much taller either, at £ 200,000 a season.
