JOHANNESBURG – Lesotho police have recovered the bodies of seven people believed to have attempted to cross into South Africa via the Mohokare River.
The bodies were recovered just before Christmas Day and Saturday.
The river is located on the border of Ficksburg in the Free State between South Africa and Lesotho.
It is understood that there could be more bodies in the water.
With the holiday season ending, border officials are manning the various ports of entry amid expectations that some may enter the country illegally.
