According to the police, he turned himself in to the national commissioner’s anti-corruption task force for his alleged role in fraud and corruption related to the branding of police vehicles, handcuffs, shackles and subcontracting of vehicles from police garages, procurement of material office and building renovation.

Police spokesman Vish Naidoo said: “These investigations began in September 2018, in which 71 defendants have been arrested to date, including very high-ranking police officers, business men and women. Since then, almost all SAPS employees have been fired from SAPS after their alleged involvement in these cases. “

It is alleged that the lawyer received more than 900,000 rand from one of the accused on the day of his arrest.

He is expected to appear in Pretoria Magistrates Court on Wednesday for a formal request for bail.

Police said more arrests were coming.
