KwaZulu-Natal Prime Minister Sihle Zikalala has announced changes in the provincial government.
Former economic development MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube has been reassigned to the finance portfolio, while MEC Ravi Pillay, who previously led finance, has been transferred to the economic development, tourism and environmental affairs portfolio.
“The two MECs are seasoned leaders with extensive experience in government. We hope they get up and running and make sure to pick up the pace to meet the eight key priorities of the sixth administration and improve the lives of the people of our province, ”said Zikalala.
“This reconfiguration will reinvigorate and introduce effective strategies that will position the government to focus on accelerating the transformation. Its contribution will be more critical as we respond to the current economic crisis exacerbated by the Covid-19 pandemic.”
The prime minister congratulated both MECs on their newly assigned responsibilities.
This is a developing story.
