Private investigator Zane Kilian, the man charged with the murder of Chief Constable Charl Kinnear, is in isolation after one of his cellmates showed symptoms of Covid-19.
Kilian was scheduled to appear in Bellville Regional Court in Cape Town on Tuesday to request formal bond more than two months after his arrest.

However, the case was postponed in absentia, and prosecutor Greg Wolmarans explained that one of the prisoners in Kilian’s cell group had shown symptoms of coronavirus and had been sent for examination.
The result was expected on Thursday.
If the man tested positive, Kilian and the rest of the cell group would go into quarantine for 10 days.
If the prisoner tests negative, Kilian would return to the dock on December 15 to request bail.
Last week, the procedures were postponed because Wolmarans had been isolating himself after being in contact with a colleague who had tested positive.
Kilian has been in detention since his arrest days after Kinnear was shot and killed in his car in front of his home in Bishop Lavis, Cape Town, on September 18.
Killian’s attorney previously said that his client was searching for drugs at a pharmacy at the time of Kinnear’s murder.
This was after it was discovered that Kinnear’s phone had been secretly traced or “tapped”.
In a separate case, Killian also faces one charge of attempted murder along with Kauther Brown, Kim Smith, Ibrahim Deare and Riyaad Gasant for a shooting at the Cape Town home of defense attorney William Booth in April.
