Cape Town – TV host Katlego Maboe’s scheduled court appearance did not take place, after the prosecutor only found out in a news article on Tuesday.

Maboe was due to appear in court Tuesday for allegedly violating a protection order that his ex-partner, Monique Muller, had taken against him.

National Tax Authority spokesman Eric Ntabazalila said: “Katlego Maboe’s scheduled appearance in court did not take place this morning.

“When the prosecutor saw an article about the complaints made, she contacted the police and asked about the appearance in court.

“They gave him today’s date to appear in court. This morning, the file was not brought to court as expected. Since then he has asked for the file to examine it. “

Ntabazalila added that a date for Maboe’s appearance has not yet been set.

Maboe has been caught in a recent social media storm after abuse allegations made against him by Muller surfaced online.

Following this, an online video of an interaction with Maboe and Muller appeared where he admits to cheating on her.

Speaking to IOL Entertainment, Maboe said that he stood firm in his opening statement in which he denied the abuse allegations, adding that the matter was being litigated and therefore, sub judice.

“I am respecting the legal process and all those involved and I do not compromise or discredit anyone,” he said.

Muller also accused him of giving her an STD in the video, to which he replied: “The allegations about the STD are unproven.”
