Cardova Productions has issued a statement regarding the ongoing drama with Katlego Maboe.
The “Expresso” host has been caught in a social media storm after abuse allegations against his ex-girlfriend, Monique Muller, surfaced online.
Following this, an online video of an interaction with Maboe and Muller appeared where he admits to cheating on her.
The producer of “The Expresso Morning Show,” Cardova Productions, released a statement and said it was aware of the allegations and the video.
By stating that it condemned acts of violence against women and children, it took the allegations seriously.
Furthermore, until the matter is fully “investigated and pending the outcome, Maboe will not appear on ‘The Expresso Morning Show.”
See the full statement below:
“Certain serious allegations have been posted on social media about Mr. Katlego Maboe and a video was leaked last night showing Mr. Maboe apparently admitting to cheating on his partner.
“We have been informed that a legal process related to the allegations is currently on hold.
“We condemn any act of violence and mistreatment, especially against women and children, which is why we take these accusations very seriously.
“Until the matter has been fully investigated and the outcome is known, Mr. Maboe will not appear on ‘The Expresso Morning Show.”
Speaking to IOL Entertianment, Maboe said that he stood firm in his opening statement in which he denied the abuse allegations, adding that the matter was being litigated and therefore sub-judicial.
“I am respecting the legal process and all those involved and I do not compromise or discredit anyone,” he said.
Regarding the video circulating on social media where Muller is apparently filming it, Maboe says it was filmed on August 24 and started as a normal night at home and ended in the barbecue session.
“My son was used as a weapon, and as a father, I was put in a position where I must consider my love for him … I said what I said in the video and did my best to at least draw the line the integrity of the people involved.
“I was very willing to have the conversation with her in person, but I realized very quickly that the intention of the video from the beginning was for it to be published.”
IOL Entertainment was unable to reach Muller for comment.
