Kate Middleton news: the Duchess of Cambridge wears fur trim, is it real?

Kate wore her favorite old coat from the event, which took place in freezing on Monday night. She was wearing a green Catherine Walker coat.

Royals have worn less fur over the years. This is not believed to be for any particular reason apart from the fact that opinions have changed on fur ethics.

The queen even banned furs from her wardrobe last year.

Her Majesty’s Dressing Table shared the news in their memoir The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dressing Table and the Wardrobe.

Kelly, who dressed the queen for 25 years, wrote: “If Her Majesty is attending an engagement in particularly cold weather, from 2019 faux fur will be used to ensure she stays warm.”

Buckingham Palace confirmed the news with a statement that said: “As new outfits are designed for the Queen, any fur that is worn will be fake.”

However, it is unclear what will happen to the queen’s existing fur, or if she will still wear it.

To her Monday night look, Kate added an item from another favorite brand, Alexander McQueen.

She was carrying a small black brand handbag with a jeweled handle.

Kate also wore Queen earrings, a pair she has on long-term loan.

However, unlike some real jewelry, the provenance of these pieces has never been revealed.

They have never been seen before 2012 when they were worn by the Queen, which leads him to see that they are likely a new addition to the Monarch.
