Graham Smith told Express.co.uk that the royal family titles make no sense and are just pantomime. Campaign of the Republic for the abolition of the monarchy and for Queen Elizabeth II to be replaced by an elected democratic head of state.
Mr Smith said: “I think there is an opportunity here to stop the increasing size of the Royal Family and say that these ridiculous titles are not needed.”
The titles are meaningless anyway, Your Highness, I don’t know what that is supposed to mean.
“I also think they are a relatively new invention, it’s just pantomime and status.
“William and Kate want their kids to have that status, I just think it’s all a bit ridiculous actually.

“I think there is an opportunity to say that we don’t need to keep handing out these titles.
“William’s children can go and do whatever they want to do, they will be adults when their father dies and George has a chance to be king.
“They should let them lead their own lives in privacy and have fun as private citizens.”
The Republic CEO also told the Duke and Duchess of Cambirdge to go earn their own income.
The Republic chief executive added: “The monarchy in general costs much more than the royal house admits, it is around £ 345 million from the taxpayer each year.
“It needs to be stripped again.
“The monarchy is there to give us a person and that is the head of state, the Queen.
“Therefore, the queen should have an annual salary similar to that of the prime minister.”
