The Alexandra-born player missed the team’s last training session on Wednesday and the medical team is monitoring him
Kaizer Chiefs offensive midfielder Lebogang Manyama races against the clock to get fit for Thursday’s game between Bafana Bafana and Namibia.
Manyama missed Wednesday’s training session due to a lumbar strain, the national team confirmed.

With this being Bafana Bafana’s last training session, Manyama will have to undergo a late physical fitness test to determine if he will be fit for the match.
Manyama had been designated as the man to lead the Bafana attack by coach Molefi Ntseki.
This despite the former Cape Town captain flourishing for Amakhosi last season behind the forwards.
“In terms of how we want it [Manyama] to play, we have selected him as a forward. We will work on him in training to prepare him for the position we want him to play, “Ntseki said after announcing his team.
The 51-year-old mentor said that while Manyama played as a forward before, his starting role for Bafana Bafana would be different due to the opponents his team will face.
“He has played as a forward before, but the role we are bringing him is different. That’s why we have him as a forward even though people say he has done well as a Chiefs midfielder,” he added.
“We have more of a profile for him where he played as a forward and did very well.”
It was Ntseki who brought Manyama back to the Bafana setup for Afcon 2021 qualifying matches against Ghana and Sudan following their impressive performances at club level.
Before the convocation in November 2019, Manyama was last selected to represent his country in 2018.
His move from City to Turkey did him no good in terms of breaking the nod for a spot in Bafana Bafana’s squads.
However, his record of seven goals and nine assists in 32 games in all competitions for the Glamor Boys last season earned him another call-up for Ntseki’s last team.
