Kaizer bosses reveal why their transfer ban appeal decision has been delayed at TAS

Amakhosi is watching his rivals in the middle of the transfer business as they eagerly await the outcome of their request to Zurich.

Kaizer bosses say the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is taking a long time to make a decision on their transfer ban appeal due to the voluminous nature of the evidence they presented.

Amakhosi was punished in February 2020 with sanctions by the world governing body FIFA that prohibited them from participating in the transfer market for the next two registration periods after being found guilty of a transfer offense.

This emanated from his illegal acquisition and registration of Andriamirado ‘Dax’ Andrianarimanana from Malagasy club Fosa Juniors in 2018.

But the spokeswoman for the Soweto giants, Vina Maphosa, says they filed an appeal against the transfer ban with CAS on September 8 and that the outcome of their request was delayed due to the number of documents they submitted.

“The little update I have is that it seems that the presentations that were made on September 9 were very big,” Maphosa told the media according to Sowetan Live.

“Usually it is said that it takes five to eight days to get the result, but that goes with the amount of exhibition that was presented. Last time I checked, it was due to the amount of documentation that was shared which made it impossible to get a quick result. We are still waiting. We don’t have any promises or deadlines given to us. “

Meanwhile, as Amakhosi eagerly awaits news from Zurich, new coach Gavin Hunt watches as his rivals are busy with the transfer business in preparation for next season.

Mamelodi Sundowns has already signed at least seven players, while the Orlando Pirates announced four acquisitions this week.

The bosses risk missing the clearance sale at the now-defunct Bidvest Wits from where Sundowns secured the services of goalkeeper Ricardo Goss and midfielder Haashim Domingo.

The big former Wits stars make business sense as they arrive in a free transfer, and the Pirates, on the other hand, sign Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo, Deon Hotto and Terrence Dzvukamanja from the former PSL 2017 champions.

“We are looking at space. If you check it, I think there have been discussions about an extension of the player registration until the end of November, ”Maphosa said.

“We are closely watching events; we see that other players are already being signed by other teams. “

A further delay in the CAS result could see the Chiefs lose the remaining available former Wits stars like Sfiso Hlanti, Buhle Mkhwanazi, Thabang Monare and the promising 19-year-old Rowan Human, considered one of the best prospects in South African soccer. .
